The Daily Telegraph        22.7.2005

It has to be business as usual for Londoners
(Filed: 22/07/2005)

Two days ago, the last two victims of the July 7 bombings were identified as Mala Trivedi, a health worker, and Ojara Ikeagwu, a social worker.
For a fortnight, their faces and those of other strangers - young and old, black and white, British and foreign - have stared out from our newspapers,
exciting the sympathy of the world.

The Little Man Who Wasn't There        1899

Hughes Mearns        1875-1965

Last night I saw upon the stair
A little man who wasn't there
He wasn't there again today
Oh, how I wish he'd go away...

When I came home last night at three
The man was waiting there for me
But when I looked around the hall
I couldn't see him there at all!
Go away, go away, don't you come back any more!
Go away, go away, and please don't slam the door... (slam!)

Last night I saw upon the stair
A little man who wasn't there
He wasn't there again today
Oh, how I wish he'd go away!

The Little Man Who Wasn't There (misquote)

Yesterday upon the stair
I met a man who wasn't there.
He wasn't there again today.
I wish that man would go away.
