Sam Bishop, The Electric, Birmingham

‘The biggest challenge with projectionists

is that they work in near total darkness,’

says Nicholson.

‘I [had to] set up lights

to simulate the ambience of the projection room.

The Electric is Britain’s oldest working cinema.’
