Photojournalist Lynsey Addario honoured for her work – in pictures

From Kabul to Kyiv, Lynsey Addario has documented conflict worldwide,

with an emphasis on women’s issues, for 20 years.

Her work is being honoured by the School of Visual Arts in New York City,

with its 32nd annual Masters Series award and exhibition,

opening 2 September

Afghanistan before and after Taliban reign

and American soldiers during war,

as well as her kidnapping

by pro-Qaddafi forces

in the Libyan civil war.

 

She also spoke of how she managed

to strike a balance between life and work

as a wife, mother, and conflict photographer.
